Our Review
An elegant hotel, close to the gardens of the Villa Borghese, the Majestic offers guests an welcoming and comfortable stay in the heart of the city centre and remains a popular choice.
The Majestic Hotel is housed in one of Rome most beautiful historical buildings, Villa Ludovisi, and was inaugurated in 1889, making it the oldest hotel on the Via Veneto. The medium sized lobby is very elegant, with a comfortable sitting area to the left of the reception desk that is furnished with green sofas and dark coffee tables. Other public areas of the hotel are decorated with numerous pieces of genuine antique furniture, cared for by an expert restorer. Each floor has a specific colour scheme and each of the 83 guestrooms features a unique combination of fabrics used for the drapes, curtains and bedspread. Most of those are made from silk, and have been designed and dyed exclusively for this hotel. The bathrooms are made of Carrara marble and equipped with all sorts of comforts, including a telephone, a magnifying mirror and a whirlpool bathtub. The hotel’s La Veranda restaurant welcomes its guests in a stylish and warm atmosphere, among antique mirrors and Art Nouveau stucco. Here, guests enjoy a true Mediterranean cuisine that respects all seasonal flavours. La Ninfa is the hotel bar/brasserie. A wide selection of spirits, fine wines and refreshments are available here, accompanied by a range of appetising snacks. All day, one can also enjoy a constantly renewed selection of tasty culinary Italian specialities. During the summer months, the roof terrace offers wonderful views of Quirinale Hill and, unusually for a central Roman hotel is surrounded by greenery.
